Quaker Oats Teams Up with NFL To Help Feeding America Charity

Posted by

The NFL has an official oatmeal sponsor, and together they are intent on helping Americans start their day right with a healthy breakfast. Quaker Oats 100% whole grain oats are on the menu, and fighting hunger is the objective.

It’s true that oats are considered one of the healthiest grains on earth – a heart-friendly source of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. But don’t just take Quaker’s word for it. They’ve teamed up with NFL greats like Drew Brees, Jerome Bettis, and Jerry Rice, who have come forward in a new ad campaign to inspire others to catch onto the healthy practice of eating oats for breakfast, too.

And it’s all for a good cause. Quaker has committed to fighting food insecurity and making nourishment accessible to at-risk families through a $125,000 donation to the charity, Feeding America. The sum will help provide 1.25 million meals to families in need this holiday season.

But there’s more. Quaker has coined the “Quaker Good Call” challenge which encourages Americans to make the good choice – or “good call” in football lingo – to eat oats for breakfast, as well as save the empty oats canister when they’re through. An additional element of the “good call” challenge is to then fill up the empty container with spare change from around the home. Quaker hopes participants will take that spare change to local Coinstar kiosks and donate it toward fighting hunger by selecting the Feeding America charity.
